My Forget-me-nots
Share
At the beginning of May, it’s already getting warm in the greenhouse. Even the nights no longer drop below freezing, so the growing conditions for my small perennials are finally just right.
Why grow forget-me-nots instead of picking them in the wild?
Simply because I’ve learned over the years that wild ones can be almost impossible to find — unless you happen to be in Jyväskylä, which seems to be the promised land of forget-me-nots. That said, even there they tend to appear in places where shouting STOP! from a moving car isn’t exactly the safest option on a motorway.
Soon I’ll have the first of these ready for pressing. It’s always a special moment — the point where they become exactly what they’re meant to be: beautiful and durable.
